How We Support Pastors’ Families.

Pastors’ families are often the most visible, yet the most overlooked part of church life. While the pastor pours into the church, his wife and children frequently carry emotional weight few ever recognize.

At The Gathering, we believe soul care must go beyond the pulpit. That’s why we intentionally invest in pastors’ wives and pastors’ children (PKs) - offering holistic, Christ-centered support that helps their homes become places of healing, joy, and identity. For pastors’ wives, our 12-week Soul Care Semester offers a deeply reflective journey into the often-hidden dimensions of her life. With courses tailored to:

  • Her Relationship with God

  • Her Relationship with Her Husband

  • Her Relationship with Her Children

  • Her Relationship with The Congregation

  • Her Relationship with Other Women In The Church

We help her rediscover her voice, her worth, and her calling beyond the spotlight. Many pastors’ wives battle silent loneliness, unrealistic expectations, and identity erosion. Through biblical sound teaching, small-group cohorts, and honest conversation, we offer a space where she is seen, heard, and strengthened spiritually, emotionally, and relationally.

What sets our program apart is its community-building design. Just like pastors, pastors’ wives are placed in small cohort groups of 3–4 women who journey together throughout the semester. In these safe circles, true friendships are formed. Many women report this as the first time in years they’ve had space to speak honestly, laugh deeply, and heal together.

For Pastors’ Children, we take an equally intentional approach. Too many PKs grow up under pressure, to perform, to behave, to inspire. They’re often seen as extensions of their parents’ ministry rather than individuals with their own walk with God. Our discipleship programs, retreats, and social events are designed to help them form their own identity in Christ, separate from the “pastor’s kid” title. We help them navigate common challenges like people-pleasing, comparison, silent grief, and hidden questions about God.

Our youth-focused Soul Care cohorts, led by trained youth mentors, create safe, engaging spaces where PKs can build authentic friendships, share struggles, and ask tough questions without fear of judgment. Whether they’re learning to lead, rediscover joy, or grieve silent losses, PKs are reminded that being part of a ministry family doesn’t mean losing themselves.

Our vision is simple but transformative: to see pastors’ wives and children grow into emotionally intelligent, spiritually rooted, and relationally whole disciples of Jesus. We don’t just focus on their roles, we focus on their hearts.

Upcoming opportunities include:

We do this because when a pastor’s family is healthy, the whole church breathes easier.
